If an auditor doesn’t see incident reports it is a huge red flag! Make sure you know exactly what must be recorded and reported and that your staff have the training to do it.If you are not recording Incidents you are doing a huge disservice to your Participants and their funding. Effective incident management practices are fundamental to the provision of quality disability supports and services and keeping NDIS participants safe.
For staff, reading and signing your Incident Management Policy and Procedure is simply NOT ENOUGH! Staff need to be trained in what to do immediately following an Incident, what information to collect, who to contact within your organisation and what part they will play in the possible investigation and outcome.
